Media in Your Classroom

Films on Demand

Films on Demand is the library's streaming media package. It includes documentaries (with content from PBS, the BBC, and many other publishers), theatrical performances, instructional videos, and selected Art Cinema. Stream videos in your classroom, on campus, online, or remote. Show pre-cut segments, or create your own. Assign items for students to view on their own time, too. Transcripts are available for most videos.

DVDs

Got a film on DVD, but no way to play it in your classroom.? The library to the rescue! We have DVD players available on all three campuses. Players circulate to faculty for classroom use. To be sure a player is available, email library@atlanticcape.edu. Not sure how to set it up in the classroom? No problem. Let us know, and we will come help. Players may also be used in the library by students.

Sound Recordings

The library can also bring sound recordings on CD into your classroom. Our DVD players can play sound CD disks. Email ahead if you wish to reserve a player, and let us know if you need help with the setup.

Don't have the DVD/CD?

We can try to get it for you. Many libraries now lend media on disk. This process requires approximately the same window of time as getting a book from another library, so please plan ahead. Material in our local system should arrive in about a week. Items requested from libraries outside the Atlantic County Library System should be requested at least three weeks in advance of the anticipated play time, and you should plan to be a little flexible about your play date.

Not in the ACLS Collections?

Couldn't find it in our local collections? We can ask another library to lend it to us for you. Typical turn-around time is 1-3 weeks.
