In cooperation with the faculty of Atlantic Cape Community College, the libraries provide access to many (but not all) of the printed textbooks used for classes at each campus. Some instructors may also place recommended readings and other materials on reserve in the libraries.
Reserve collections are held behind the Circulation Desk (the main service desk in the library). Please ask for the material you need to use. We can look it up by
Reserve items must be used in the library. You may not take them to class or take them home with you. If you want to copy a small section, the libraries have scanners available. Users are responsible for abiding by U.S. copyright regulations.
You need to be a registered library user to borrow material from the Reserve Collection. Bring your college ID card to the Circulation Desk at any Atlantic Cape library. No ID card? You should get one made up as soon as possible. Replacement cards cost $5.00.
Most items in the Reserve Collection can be borrowed for 2 hours. If no other student is waiting to use the item, you may renew it for another 2 hours.
Due to publisher restrictions, most standard digital textbooks cannot be made available online by the library.
If you are taking a course that is part of the Open Textbook Program, your textbooks and class materials should be available through Blackboard. Check your course for instructions and links to readings and other resources.
Access codes are required for most e-textbooks from commercial publishers, and may also provide access to supplemental online material for some printed textbooks.
Access codes are not available from the libraries.
For most textbooks, your access code will be included in the material packed with your print edition
or
sent to you by email when your purchase is confirmed.
For some textbooks, access codes are distributed by the instructor for the class. If you did not get an access code with your purchase, check the instructions you received by email, and the information provided by your instructor in Blackboard. You can also email your professor.
If you purchased a textbook with an access code, and the code was not issued to you, or if it does not work, please contact the bookstore, or the publisher.
