Ebsco ebook collections

• Ebsco provides an eBook Accessibility Guide to assist users of screen readers when using their ebooks

Atlantic Cape ebook accessibilty tools

• All library computers are equipped with ZoomText, a program that enables users to enlarge the size of text and images on the screen.
• Ebsco eBooks opened as either PDF or EPUB files can be enlarged using the zoom feature
• Both Adobe Digital Editions and the Bluefire Reader allow the user to change the size of the text display and to change the contrast between background and text.
• Most free e-book collections have a zoom feature on their pages, but the location varies from one publisher to another. Please ask a librarian for help if you encounter difficulties. Atlantic Cape Community College cannot guarantee the accessibility of free materials on the web.

Online ebooks

• Free ebooks on the web come in a variety of file formats. Most can be enlarged for on-screen reading, but not all are accessible to screen readers. Librarians will be happy to provide assistance with any texts that present accessibility issues.
