On September 22nd, we welcomed the fall season of 2022. As a lover of fall, I thought we should celebrate by sharing some fall recipe books, interesting reads, and local events!
The weather gets cooler, the schedules get busier, and we begin craving warm, simple meals like casseroles!
This book is filled with casserole recipes like a modern take on the All-American Chicken Pot Pie (Page 132) or Sweet Maa's Macaroni and Cheese Casserole. Whether you are in the mood for meat, seafood, vegetables, or bread-based casseroles, James Villas has you covered.
Be sure to stop in and take a look at his creations!
If you are anything like me, you love pumpkin EVERYTHING!
This collection of recipes is perfect the lovers of pumpkin people and includes soups, pies, desserts, cookies, side dishes, and entrees like Szechwan-Style Chicken (page 43) or Piñata Pumpkin Chili (page 48). No matter what you are looking for, you are sure to find it here!
Looking for a piece of realistic fiction? Take a look at this novel written by the bestselling author of The Hate U Give (also a HIGHLY recommended read). This story focuses on a teenage girl, Bri, who is trying to reach her dream and start a rap career in honor of her father... against all odds.

"Jess needs a fresh start. She's broke and alone, and she's just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn't sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn't say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up, to find a very nice apartment, (could Ben really have afforded this?) he's not there. The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother's situation, and the more questions she has. Ben's neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it's starting to look like it's Ben's future that's in question. The socialite. The nice guy. The alcoholic. The girl on the verge. The concierge. Everyone's a neighbor. Everyone's a suspect. And everyone knows something they're not telling."
