Michele Togashi |
A Brief Bio:
I am Michele Togashi and I am an Adjunct Professor and Tutor at Atlantic Cape Community College. At my full time job, I work as an Operations Manager for a retail store located inside one of the casinos in Atlantic City. Both of my parents were born in Japan, but I was born in Brazil and that is why my native language is primarily Portuguese. However, I am fluent in Spanish and know some Japanese. As it relates to my educational background, I hold a Bachelor degree in Communications from University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and a Master in Business Administration from Rowan University in Glassboro.

What do I tutor? Computers, Math, & Spanish |
Interests: One of my hobbies is to come up with new and healthy meals to cook for me and my husband. Therefore, I like to read articles that provide different types of recipes or books that detail some innovative and healthy new ways to cook. I also enjoy reading about news and current events. This is one of reasons why our free subscription to the Wall Street Journal is a great benefit and has become one of my useful daily tools. |
Career Aspirations:
In terms of career goals, I am really starting to enjoy the field of academics and education as it makes me feel fulfilled and complete by helping students to learn and understand subjects or topics that they have not known before. That being said, I am starting to consider a change in my career and maybe start to fully dedicate my work in the academics and education sector. |
Carolyn Mee |
A Brief Bio: I earned my PhD in Rhetoric and Composition at Temple University in Philadelphia. When I retired from teaching all levels of writing at Arcadia University in Glenside Pennsylvania, I moved to Cape May County. Here, I taught at ACCC and Stockton. I also enjoyed several years of working for the Cape May County Herald, first as a reporter, and then as Features Editor. When a position in ACCC's Cape May Campus library opened, I returned. Here, I cover the circulation desk part-time and tutor students with their writing assignments, either in person or via email. |
Hobbies: I love to cook. I have a bookcase bulging with all sorts of cookbooks. I love watching cooking shows that inspire me with new ideas for my husband and me, and especially for our kids and grandkids when they visit. However, I'm always up for a restaurant outing, as well! And I love puzzles: online jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and, of course, Wordle, to name a few. |
Favorite Books and/or Authors: Impossible to say! A few authors I love: Andre Dubus, Virginia Woolf, Mary Oliver, Seamus Heaney, Ursula K. LeGuin, Alex Michaelides, Laura Dave, Lisa Jewell, Khaled Hosseini, Jhumpa Lahiri, Jojo Moyes... |

Nicholas Alexander |
A Brief Bio: My name is Nick, and I am 33. I graduated from Atlantic Cape in 2013 and have a master’s degree in Educational Technology. I have worked at the college since 2015 in different areas—counseling, IT, teaching, and saving the best for last—Tutoring! In other words, I know my way around here. My full-time job is working at a high school in the technology field. I also advise for the robotics and eSports team. |
What do I tutor? My specialty is writing and computers. Availability (Remotely through email and Zoom meetings): Monday-Friday from 5PM to 11PM. Saturday-Sunday 9AM-9PM |
Hobbies & Career Goals: Video games (Everquest, Bioshock, Borderlands and Call of Duty, Animal Crossing… To name a few!). I enjoy soldering, woodburning, and most recently I was introduced to knitting. I also like to run. I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up… I get bored easily, but I love to learn. My passions change seasonally. I assume that might eventually stabilize; I will let you know. Ha! |
What inspires me? It depends on the day and activity. When I am writing or reviewing work, I like to listen to Lofi hip hop radio on YouTube. Generally, inspiration comes from my parents who are deceased. I want to be half of who they were as people. It is a hefty goal that will keep me busy for the rest of my life. |

Gabrielle Bibus |
A Brief Bio: Gabby Bibus graduated from Stockton University (double major in Literature/Languages and Culture Studies, minor in French) in May 2021. She had served as the Head Tutor at Stockton's Writing Center and was disappointed that she couldn't continue this position after graduation, but fortunately, one of her supervisors put her in touch with ACCC, where she now tutors remotely on the weekends. She currently works full-time as a substitute teacher at Burlington County Institute of Technology, and intends to teach English in France and/or Japan within the next couple of years. |
What do I tutor? Writing - Remotely on the Weekends |
Interests: Gabby loves music, anime, books, and animals. She lives on a farm with a cat, two dogs, a parrot, six ducks, and a whopping 81 goats! In fact, her colleagues at Stockton's Writing Center affectionately referred to her as "Goat Gabby." |
Her Favorite Book:
Her favorite book is The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells, and she is currently making her way through all of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson books (at the time of writing this post, she is just about to start reading the fifth and final book in The Heroes of Olympus series).
